\u2018Twas the first official race in the club\u2019s orienteering year,
\nBefore midday the first runners began to appear.<\/p>\n
They came from Bendigo, Melbourne and overseas,
\nReady to take on the spiderwebs between the trees.<\/p>\n
One third of all runners took part on course one,
\nAhead of Mikkel, Aston and Ben, Brodie has won.<\/p>\n
Lots set out on the loops of course two,
\nMorten, Andrew and Nic were the top few.<\/p>\n
The mapper Alex showed up for course three,
\nHe had a win. Next in line was Raelee.<\/p>\n
Yarra Valley did well on course number four,
\nBut at the end of the day Jacqui came to the fore.<\/p>\n
The kids all did well on course number five,
\nAshley, Hugo and Isobel were in overdrive.<\/p>\n
There were newcomers to the club who were out for a run,
\nI hope they found their way and had lots of fun.<\/p>\n
Thanks to everyone who helped put on the event.
\nThe satisfaction rate was close to 100 per cent.<\/p>\n
Thanks for indulging my April Fools jest,
\nI think the idea was one of my best.<\/p>\n
