Victorian Schools team update (from the OV weekly bulletin)<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis year Orienteering Victoria will again select a team of up to 20 high school students to compete in the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships. Some refinements are in progress regarding the selection process. This year participation and commitment from our juniors will be essential to the selection of the team.<\/p>\n

Orienteering Victoria is very keen to encourage all potential team members to participate in the major events coming up here in Victoria, e.g. all State Series events and State Championships. Participation in major interstate events such as Easter is also encouraged. More participation from our juniors will further improve their skills. Commitment is also a key factor, so again Orienteering Victoria is encouraging our juniors to attend the upcoming Junior Development training camps and other training events.<\/p>\n

The selection criteria will be finalised soon, however in the meantime come along to the training events and camps, and get along to State Series events and Easter, and do your best. Bruce Arthur.<\/span><\/p>\n

Course Setters NEEDED <\/strong><\/span>We are still looking for Course Setters and Organisers for our events. We have events in April to fill, please check the Calendar <\/a><\/p>\n

The Victorian Relay Championships 2015 <\/strong><\/p>\n

FREE ENTRY FOR PAID UP 2015 CLUB MEMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHEN: Sunday 29th March at Eppalock South.<\/p>\n

NOTE: You do not enter the Relays individually, If you want to run in a team for Bendigo Orienteers email richard.goonan@optusnet.com.au indicating your preferred course and team members<\/p>\n

Entries close on Monday 23rd March (Yes this is less than 2 weeks away).<\/p>\n

Course distances are: A<\/strong> \u2013 7.5 km, B<\/strong> \u2013 5.0 km, C<\/strong> \u2013 3.0 km, D<\/strong> \u2013 2.1 km, E<\/strong> (1 x B, 1 x C, 1 x D)<\/p>\n

Note: Where possible event organisers recommend you carpool!<\/p>\n

Final instructions: will be added to Eventor after the closing date on 23rd March.<\/p>\n

Organisers and Course Setters<\/span>: Louis and Solomon Cameron. (It\u2019s been a busy couple of weeks in the Cameron household?)<\/p>\n

Start<\/span>: 12.30 to 2.00 pm<\/p>\n

Format<\/span>: One hour scatter course with age based handicap to see who can take out the coveted Golden Sandshoe.<\/p>\n

Directions<\/span><\/strong>: From Bendigo<\/span> At the Fountain travel north toward Echuca along Pall Mall for one block. Turn right at the Shamrock Hotel and continue along Williamson Street. You will cross the railway line, cross the creek and go through a major roundabout towards Strathfieldsaye. Then, from the last traffic lights at Strathdale (Reservoir Hotel) proceed 4 km towards Strathfieldsaye. Turn right at Saxby Dr and then 500m. to right fork on to Arthurs Cr. to parking area.<\/p>\n

From Castlemaine<\/span>: Travel on the Calder to the Bendigo Fountain, then for Bendigo as above.<\/p>\n

NOTE: please park responsibly in this residential area.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
